Women's Cross Country 7th out of 19 at the Stanford Invitational

Stanford, Calif.-----Kim Nebeker’s 29th place finish helped San Jose State University finish seventh out of 19 teams at the Stanford Invitational women’s cross country meet on September 29.

Nebeker posted a time of 14:23 on the 4,000-meter "short" course on the Stanford campus. Her sister, Ashleigh Nebeker was the next fastest Spartan with a time of 14:33 good for 34th place.

Ana Martinez, last week’s Western Athletic Conference "Athlete of the Week," was 39th at 14:39.

San Jose State’s team score of 211 trailed winner Stanford, which posted a score of 40. Brigham Young was second with 53.

Hawaii was the only other WAC school competing in this meet. The Rainbow Wahines finished fourth with a score of 128.

Stanford’s Alicia Craig finished first with a time of 12:40 easily distancing herself from second–place finisher Michaela Manova of BYU who had a time of 12:54.
