San Jose, Calif. – This week the San José State women’s and men’s cross country teams head to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the 2017 Mountain West Cross Country Championships.

Head Coach Brad Wick’s Spartans will battle the best in the Mountain West on Friday morning at the University of New Mexico – North Golf Course, which is at an elevation of 5,312 feet. The men’s championship race is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. (PT) and the women’s championship race gets under way at 9:45 a.m. (PT).
Both races will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network. A link to the stream as well as live results will be on each of the team’s schedule pages. A links will also be available on the Mountain West’s web page (www.themw.com).
Sandoval finished 22nd in last year’s Championship, tops among the team members competing on Friday.
The top finish in the Championship, among Spartan runners competing this year, is Gonzalez, who was 32nd in the 2015 MW Championship.
The best team finish for the men was two years ago in Reno, Nev., when SJSU took sixth place. The top team result for the women was also in 2015 when they finished eighth.
