BELMONT, Calif.-----The San Jose State University women’s cross country team placed fifth overall at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 19. Santa Clara placed second, receiving the two points for the San Jose State-Santa Clara rivalry series.

The Spartans placed fifth overall with 124 points. Nevada won the race with 36 points and Santa Clara finished second with 71 in the 5,000 meter race.

“We had six girls finish under 20 minutes. It was a really hard course, but by far I think it was our best performance this year,” stated head coach Augie Argabright.

Senior Kim Nebeker was the top Spartan finisher, placing 16th with a time of 19:10. She was followed closely by sophomore Anna Connelly with a time of 19:17 (23rd) and junior Lindsay Peters, 24th with a time of 19:20.
