The San Jose State women's cross country team will race in the Gator Invitational this Friday October 8 in San Francisco, California.
The Gator Invite hosted by San Francisco State will take place on the Speedway Meadow Course inside Golden Gate Park, and is the only event of the year with an extended length to 6K.
San Jose State finished fourth out of 16 teams in this competition in 2009.
Kate Lambdin and Elizabeth Raymond have been the Spartans' one-two punch so far in 2010. They have finished in the team's top two spots in all three races on the year including Lambdin's first place performance at the Battle of the Bay back in September.
"We feel confident that our team will place high in this competition," said Spartans' head coach Augie Argabright. "It will also be interesting to see how the extra thousand meters will affect the way the women finish the race."
The women's event will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, October 8.
