Women's Cross Country 16th At Charles Bowles

Salem, Ore. -- San Jose State women's cross country finished in 16th place out of 24 teams at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Oregon on October 2.

     Elizabeth Raymond ran the 5K course in 18:40.38, and was the Spartans' top finisher.

     Kate Lambdin (18:54.80), Lauren Dubay (19:38.61), Victoria Smith (19:48.0) and Megan Arias (19:58.27) rounded out the scorers for San Jose State.

     The field at the Charles Bowles had 257 individual runners representing 24 different schools. The University of Idaho, a WAC opponent, took first place overall scoring 55 points.

     "We ran well in a competitive field and on a tough, hilly course," said Spartans' head coach Augie Argabright. "Kate and Beth ran a good race, and we'll keep working hard as a team."

     Women's cross country is back in action at the Gator Invitational hosted by the University of San Francisco on October 8.
