Women's Cross Country Takes Fourth Place

Riverside, Calif.---San Jose State women's cross country finished in fourth place out of ten teams in the UC Riverside Open Invitational on September 18.

   The Spartans totaled 108 points, good for fourth, behind Claremont Mudd (103), CSU San Marcos (84) and the winner Loyola Marymount (43).

   Elizabeth Raymond (18:39.9) followed her second place performance at the "Battle of the Bay" with a 16th place individual finish at the UCR Invite, and was San Jose State's top finisher. 

   Kate Lambdin, who is coming off of her first career individual win on September 4,  followed Raymond, and came in 24th place for the Spartans at the Invite.

   "We're very proud of how Beth, and Kate continued to run well," said head coach Augie Argabright. "Our whole team competed today, and it was great to see some different individuals step up."

   Victoria Smith (19:47.5), Lauren Dubay (20:00.0), and Nicole Haggerty (20:00.6) rounded out the top five for San Jose State.

   Women's cross country continues their season Saturday, October 2, at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Oregon.
