The San Jose State men and women's cross country teams will be competing in the 2011 UC Riverside Invitational on September 17 in Riverside, Calif.
The women's team competes again after opening the season with a win at the Battle of the Bay Invitational on September 3. Freshman Aylin Mejia led the Spartans in that race, coming in first place individually.
Elizabeth Raymond, Kate Lambdin, Victoria Smith and Nicole Haggerty return to the UC Riverside Invitational where they were inside the Spartans' top-five finishers from last year's race.
The men's team is coming off of a second place finish out of seven teams at the Battle of the Bay where they had both Mueen Ghoury and Juan Ruiz finish inside the top-ten individually.
Other Division I teams competing this year include: Loyola Marymount, Southern Utah and the University of San Diego.
The men's race begins at 8:15 a.m. and will be followed by the women's race at 9:00 a.m.
