Tiffany Hall named WAC women's cross country

country "Athlete of the Week"
in several years.
DENVER - San Jose State's Tiffany Hall and Boise State's Ty Axtman have been named the Western Athletic Conference women's and men's cross country Athletes of the Week, respectively.

Hall, a junior from Vacaville, Calif., finished in first place at the UC Davis Aggie Invitational with a time of 18:23.90. She helped the San Jose State women to a second-place finish. Hall has two top-five finishes this year. Her first-place finish was the first by a Spartans harrier since 2001.

Axtman, a junior from Elma, Wash., finished third at the NNU Invitational in Nampa, Idaho. Axtman posted a time of 18:15.00 in the 6k race. Axtman finished just behind Bronco standout, Forest Braden, who was running unattached. The third-place finished helped the Broncos to a third-place finish with 74 points.

Additional women's nominees included: Kendra Hernandez, Boise State; Andrea Buckner, Fresno State and Grace Thomson, New Mexico State.
