McLeod and Stone Sign With Spartan's Cross Country Team

The San Jose State University cross country team signed Jesse McLeod and Megan Stone to national letters of intent.

As a senior at Lassen High School in Susanville, California, he was named to the first team All-California Cross Country team and first team All-Western Region Cross Country team. He also placed second in the California Division IV State Cross Country Championships and 19th in the Footlocker National High School Cross Country Championships.

"Jesse will make an immediate impact on our team and in our conference. He has the ability to be one of the nation's best. He is the finest recruit we have ever signed," says Head Cross Country Coach Augie Augabright.

Stone will add depth to a team that finished third at WAC Cross Country Championships. This last year at American River College she earned a number one ranking in Northern California in the 1500 meter run and third in the 1500 meter run. She attended Casa Robles High School, the same school that produced first team All-WAC runner Allison Kegely.

"Megan is one of the top Junior College runner in the state. She has the experience and ability to challenge the top runner in the WAC," says Coach Augabright.
