Hall Sets School Record in 5,000-Meter Race

Davis, Calif.-----Tiffany Hall, San Jose State University’s top cross country runner the last two seasons, set a school record winning the 5,000-meter race at the Aggie Track & Field Open hosted by the University of California Davis.

Hall, who completed her senior season for the Spartans in 2006, raced around the Woody Wilson Track in a time of 17:20.64 winning her competition by more than 23 seconds in the cross country team’s first meet of its spring season. She broke her previous school record of 17:28.35 set in 2006 at the University of San Francisco Invitational on April 29.

Nine Spartans competed in the meet. Marlene Elizalde was the top San Jose State finisher in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:55.63.
