Two top-25 state finishers to join the San Jose State University cross country team

SAN JOSE, Calif.-----Rachael Corrington of Murrieta Valley High School and Tiffany Hall from Vacaville High School, both finishing in the top-25 at the 2002 California high school cross country championships meet, have signed a Letter of Intent to attend San Jose State University in the 2003 fall semester.

Corrington and Hall are two of the four student-athletes to sign with the school. Valerie Wielert of Leigh High School and Ryan Jensen of Bellarmine Prep will also join the program in the fall.

"I am very excited about the four runners we have signed," state San Jose State cross country head coach Augie Argabright. "This is our best recruiting class ever in the early signing period. I can’t wait to work with all of them. Rachael, Tiffany and Valerie will be a great addition to the women’s team and with Ryan’s work ethic, he will be very successful."

Rachael Corrington is a senior at Murrieta Valley High School. Corrington was named to the first team All Southwestern League and is ranked 11th among California seniors. She finished in 14th place in the Division I girls race at the California state championships.

Tiffany Hall attends Vacaville High School. She placed 25th overall in the 2002 Division II state meet. Hall was named to the All Monticello Empire League first team and was a first team All San Joaquin Section selection. She is ranked 19th among California seniors.

Valerie Wielert of San Jose, Calif. is a senior at Leigh High School. She was named to the All Blossom Valley League first team and placed tenth at the 2002 Central Coast Section championship meet. Argabright commented, "Valerie has the potential to be in our top seven. She has a lot of talent."

Ryan Jensen from San Jose, Calif. attends Bellarmine College Prep. He finished in 27th place at the 2002 Central Coast Section meet. Jensen has run for four years at the varsity level and is a member of the first team All West Catholic League.
