"I'm very happy to have these runners here to take our program in a new direction," said Davis. "They are very high quality signees with great academic standing and competitive backgrounds."
Huntington is the team captain of the cross country team at Saugus High, a program that just won its seventh consecutive Cross Country State Championship. Huntington has competed twice in the state meet, finishing 26th in 2011 and 35th in 2012. She is also a two-time individual champion at the Mount SAC Cross Country Invitational.
On the track and field team, Huntington was part of two winning 4x1600 relay teams in 2012. The Santa Clarita, Calif., native has also recorded victories in the 800-meter and 1600-meter events last season.
Nunes has spread out 11 first-place times across the 1600-meter, 3200-meter and 3000-meter events in her track career at Woodcreek High. In cross country, she was a three-time winner in 2011 and had three other top-five performances that year.
She was a state championship competitor in 2011 and 2012, finishing in 47th and 48th respectively. Nunes recorded her personal-best 5000-meter time of 18:02 as a junior in 2011.
