Christchurch, New Zealand-----Juliet Moss, San Jose State University's career scoring leader and a two-time All-American, is one of 14 Women's Senior National Team water polo players representing the United States in the 2010 FINA World Cup.
This year's championship begins August 17 and concludes August 22 at QEII Park Recreation and Sport Centre. The FINA World Cup is Team USA's last major competition for the 2010 summer. Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Team USA comprise one of the two four-team brackets. Hungary, Greece, China and Canada are in the other bracket of the eight-team tournament.
Moss and her teammates open the tournament against Russia on August 17 followed by matches against Australia on August 18 and New Zealand on August 19. Quarterfinal play is August 20. Semifinals on August 21 and finals on August 22 round out the championship.
In 2010, Moss played in Australia for the Balmain Tigers of the National Water Polo League.
Leading up to the FINA World Cup, the former Spartan star was on the national team that competed recently in the 10th anniversary Auspole-Longmont Tournament in Sydney, Australia. Moss scored goals in the 13-12 win over Russia and the 12-10 semifinal round win over Greece. Team USA finished second to host Australia in the six-team tournament.
