Shenzhen, China-----Adriana Vogt, San Jose State University's career scoring leader in women's water polo, scored goals in wins by the United States in its first two matches of the World University Games.
The 2010 and 2011 Spartan co-captain scored once in the 10-6 win over France on August 13 and twice in the 12-8 victory over Mexico on August 14. Early on, Vogt appears to be one of the Americans' power play specialists. She has a power play goal in each of the victory.
Vogt is one of four USA players with a score in each win. Even though she is playing as a reserve, she is tied for third on the team in goal scoring with three. Her .750 shooting percentage is best on the team for players with more than one goal.
The 13-player USA team concludes round-robin pool play, Tuesday, August 16, against Russia. Championship action begins, Thursday, August 18, with the championship match set for Monday, August 22.
