Juliet Moss To Travel With USA Junior National Team

San Jose State’s Juliet Moss has been chosen to travel with the USA Water Polo Junior National Team as it prepares for the FINA Junior World Championships. Moss joins a select group of athletes who will travel to Zeist, Netherlands, July 14-17, for common training.

The 2007 FINA Junior World Championships will be held July 23-28, in Porto, Portugal.

Moss will practice with the USA team and play in the training matches against the Netherlands, but she will not compete in the World Championships. San Jose State head coach Lou Tully feels this is a terrific opportunity for Moss.

“While she will not be playing in the tournament, the training trip and the competition with other countries that will take place will be a great experience for Juliet,” Tully said. “I know that the coaches with the junior and senior national teams are very impressed with Juliet's athletic ability and her great attitude and work ethic. She is lacking in game experience at the international level (since this is her first opportunity), so this trip and international competition is perfect for Juliet at this stage of her career."

Moss led the Spartans with 55 goals as a sophomore last season, the third-highest season total in school history. An excellent student, Moss earned All-Academic Team honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.

Moss maintains a 3.294 GPA as a kinesiology major.
