Higlett Named To ESPN- The Magazine Academic All-District Team

San Jose, Calif. San Jose State University senior Alexis Higlett was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII At-Large Second Team as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday, May 24. Higlett, a counter-attacker on the Spartan water polo team, boasts a 3.900 cumulative grade-point average. The Balmain, Australia native is a Radio/TV/Video/Film major.

“Lexi was just a diamond for us,” said head coach Lou Tully. “She brought a tremendous enthusiasm to our team and was a fabulous counter-attack player.”

After transferring from the University of Technology Sydney, Higlett has been an offensive powerhouse for San Jose State. She notched 61 goals in the last two seasons, including 44 in 2007. She ranks in the top-15 in the San Jose State record books for career goals and single-season goals.

“I’m very honored to be recognized,” said Higlett. “It reflects on the San Jose State water polo program and Coach Tully. We take pride in our results, not only in the pool, but in the classroom too.”
