Bridget McKee, a senior from Newbury Park, Calif., who recently completed her San Jose State University women's water polo career, is one of 20 female student-athletes named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine 2010 Academic All-District VIII Women's At-Large Team.
The Academic All-District At-Large Teams honors student-athletes in the women's sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, and water polo who have at least sophomore standing athletically and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.00 scale. District VIII covers California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona, Utah, Idaho and Montana.
McKee, an anthropology major, entered the 2010 spring semester with a 3.87 cumulative grade-point average is a second team Academic All-District VIII selection. She is a two-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-American Academic Award and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All- Academic Award recipient. The three-year starter for the nationally-ranked Spartans was third on the team in scoring with 39 goals and finished her career third on the career scoring list with 160 goals.
In April, she was named one of the University's two Outstanding Graduating Seniors of the Class of 2010. McKee will be recognized with her special distinction at the San Jose State University Commencement Exercise on May 29 in Spartan Stadium.
