Water Polo Adds High-Scoring High School Prospect

San Jose, Calif.-----Anna Natalizio, who scored 81 goals in 23 matches last season for the Irvine (Calif.) High girls water polo team, signed a National Letter-of-Intent with San Jose State University and plans to enroll at the university beginning with the 2009 fall semester. Lou Tully, head coach of the Spartans, made the announcement.

Natalizio was a 2009 second-team All-C.I.F. Southern Section Division I and first-team All-Pacific Coast League choice in her senior year. Irvine High finished 17-12 and competed in the first round of the league tournament.

As a junior, she was a third-team All-Southern California choice.

“Anna Natalizio is a very active player who will fit with our style of play very well. She is an excellent shooter who has very good speed and skills,” Tully said about the two-sport athlete who also was a member of the school’s swimming and diving team.

Anna is the younger sister of Sara Natalizio, a three-time San Jose State Scholar Athlete award winner during the 2005 through 2007 seasons.
