Woodland, Calif.-----Adriana Vogt and Dani Curran, the top scorers for the 2010 San Jose State University women's water polo team, were named to the 2010 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) all-conference teams.
Vogt, a junior from Menlo Park, Calif., was named a second-team selection. Curran, a sophomore from Chino, Calif., received honorable mention recognition in a vote of the eight MPSF coaches. Both players shared top honors for most goals scored in the recently completed MPSF Championship tournament with eight.
Vogt led the nationally-ranked Spartans (17-14) in scoring with 64 goals, her best single-season total in her three seasons on the team. She finished tied for second in the conference in goals scored per match with a 2.06 average and in overall goals scored.
Curran, a sophomore from Chino, Calif., who scored 50 times, tied for fifth in the MPSF in goals scored per match with her 1.85 average. The two-time MPSF honoree was named to the All-Freshman team in 2009.
Both players are among a select group of San Jose State players to score at least 50 and 60 goals in two separate seasons. Juliet Moss (2008 and 2009) and Inna Fedoseyeva (1999 and 2000) were the first two Spartans with a 50-plus and a 60-plus goal scoring season.
