#7-Spartans Streaking to #4-USC

With its third winning streak of four or more matches this season, San Jose State University returns to conference action facing the University of Southern California in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo match.

The Spartans, ranked seventh in the April 13 national coaches' poll, and USC, ranked fourth, meet Saturday, April 16, at McDonald's Swim Stadium in a 4:00 p.m. (PDT) match.

San Jose State (20-9, 2-3 MPSF) and the Trojans (15-5, 3-3 MPSF) are meeting for the first time this season. USC looks to close its regular season on an up note after losses to #1-ranked Stanford, 9-8 in double overtime on April 2, and 7-5 at #3-ranked UCLA on April 9.

The Spartans swept their four matches at the recent Bronco Invitational and are stepping up in competition this weekend. San Jose State outscored its opponents, 55-15, even with many of the starters rotating more frequently with the reserve players.

Adriana Vogt and Timi Molnar of San Jose State are the two MPSF players to score 60 or more goals this season. Vogt, with 68 goals, ranks second per game scoring; Molnar, with 60, is sixth. Kristen Dronberger and Patricia Jancso top USC with 30 goals each.
