Woodland, Calif.-----San Jose State University freshman Timi Molnar was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Women's Water Polo Newcomer of the Week for the week ending April 10.
Molnar scored 10 goals in four contests as San Jose State swept through the Bronco Invitational, April 9 & 10, hosted by Santa Clara University. The Spartans outscored their four opponents, 55-15, to raise their season win-loss record to 20-9, only the third time a San Jose State team has 20 or more wins in a season.
The Budapest, Hungary native now has 60 goals for the season and is the second Spartan freshman to reach the 60-goal plateau. She enters the April 16 conference contest at the University of Southern California ranked fifth in the MPSF in goals scored per game. No other freshman in the conference ranks in the top-15 in scoring.
