Going For School Record Vs. #4-UCLA

San Jose, Calif.-----In its final regular-season home match, San Jose State University goes after a school-record setting 10th consecutive victory when the Spartans host UCLA, Saturday, April 2, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) women's water polo match.

            The conference contest begins at 12:00 p.m. (PDT) at The Aquatics Center on the San Jose State University campus.

            The Spartans (16-8, 2-2 MPSF) tied the school record with their ninth win in a row, a 10-8 victory over then-#8-ranked Arizona State, Saturday, March 26. The win lifted San Jose State one spot in the March 30 national coaches' poll to eighth, the team's highest ranking since being ranked seventh the first week of the season.

            UCLA (18-5, 1-3 MPSF) is in the midst of its first two-game losing streak of the season after dropping MPSF matches to California, 7-3, and Stanford, 5-2.

            San Jose State features three of the conference's top five scorers. Senior Adriana Vogt is the MPSF scoring leader with 58 goals in 24 contests. Freshman Timi Molnar is second with 50 goals. Junior Dani Curran is fifth with 49 scores.

            UCLA's top two scorers are senior Priscilla Orozco, seventh in the MPSF with 44 goals, and junior KK Clark, who has 33 scores in 2011.

            Prior to the match, San Jose State will recognize Vogt, goalkeeper Lauren Lewis and field player Alyssa Friesen in Senior Day ceremonies.
