Woodland, Calif.-----Adriana Vogt, who led #7-ranked San Jose State University to three wins in women's water polo action in a four-day span, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Player of the Week.
Vogt, a junior from Menlo Park, Calif., scored nine goals, three in each win, in non-conference matches against #16-ranked Indiana and Harvard and in a MPSF triumph, 8-7, against #6-ranked Arizona State.
Her contributions helped the Spartans extend their current win streak to six in a row heading into weekend action at #9-ranked Loyola Marymount, Saturday, March 27, and a MPSF match at #4-ranked UCLA on Sunday, March 28. Loyola Marymount has a 12-match winning streak that started after a 9-8 loss to San Jose State in the UC Irvine Invitational on February 27.
Vogt leads the Spartans (14-8, 2-2 MPSF) in scoring with 40 goals and has scored three times in each of the last four matches. She became just the third player in school history to score 40 or more goals in three different seasons and goes into the weekend seventh on San Jose State's career goal scoring list with 135.
