Moss Scores Three At Hawaii

Juliet Moss scored three times and Beth Harberts scored twice as San Jose State fell to the University of Hawaii, 11-8, in an MPSF match in Honolulu. The Spartans move to 10-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play. The fourth-ranked Warriors improve to 13-3 overall and 6-0 in MPSF action.

 

The game was close after the first, with Hawaii holding a 2-1 opening period lead, and the Warriors extended their lead to 7-3 at halftime with a big second that included two goals each from Carmen Eggens and Angela Turnbull. The Spartans received first-half goals Bridget McKee, Harberts and Kathryn Hannum.

 

San Jose owned the third-period scoring with two from Moss and solo goals from Harberts and Brianna Lindsey. The teams traded goals in the last frame for the final score.
