#9-Spartans Face Three Top-20 Teams At Aztec Invitational

    Ninth-ranked San Jose State University takes on three top-20 ranked teams at the Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego State University, Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22, at the Aztec Aquaplex.

    The Spartans (8-11, 1-4 MPSF) look for their first win since knocking off Loyola Marymount at the UC Irvine Invitational on February 21. San Jose State opens up against #5-ranked San Diego State (17-4, 0-2 MPSF) at 10:30 a.m. contest in the first of two contests on March 21. The Spartans close out the day with a match against #18-Indiana (11-9) at 3:30 p.m.

    San Jose State concludes its tournament action on March 22 against #12-Hartwick (15-6) at 10:30 a.m.

    The Spartans lost an 8-7 match to San Diego State at the UC Irvine Invitational. San Jose State has not faced Indiana nor Hartwick this season.

    Dani Curran continues to lead the Spartans in scoring with 40 goals. She joins teammate Adriana Vogt as the only San Jose State freshmen to score at least 40 times in a season. Vogt, who scored 45 goals in 2008 has 20 in 2009.

    Juliet Moss is the Spartans’ other current 30-plus goal scorer with 31. At the UCLA match on March 14, she moved into second place on the San Jose State career scoring list and now has 157 career scores.
