#1-USC Too Much For #10-San Jose State

Los Angeles, Calif.-----The top-ranked University of Southern California remained unbeaten in 2013 with an 18-4 win over #10-San Jose State University in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo match.

            The Trojans (15-0, 3-0 MPSF) jumped out to a 6-0 second-quarter lead before freshman Bianca Seyfert scored the first of two power play goals in the match for the Spartans (8-7, 0-2 MPSF).

            Anna Natalizio on a power play, Timi Molnar and Rae Lekness on a penalty shot scored San Jose State's remaining three goals.

            Kelly Mendoza and Monica Vavic scored three times each to lead USC in scoring.  Five Trojans scored at least two goals in the match.

            San Jose State's number-one goalkeeper Maddie Reardon played three quarters and was credited with five saves. Melanie Merritt was the Spartans' fourth-quarter goalkeeper and made one save.

            The next San Jose State match is Thursday, March 21, when the Spartans host Harvard in a non-conference contest at the Aquatic Center beginning at 4:00 p.m.
