Spartans Move Up - Now 9th Nationally

Despite a five-match winning streak coming to end on March 10, San Jose State University moved up one spot to ninth nationally in the Collegiate Water Polo Association weekly coaches' poll.

The Spartans (12-8, 0-3 MPSF) were edged in the final minutes by #1-ranked and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation leader UCLA, 7-5, in Los Angeles. The Bruins retained the number-one ranking in the country while the Spartans moved up in the poll for the second week in a row.

Eleven teams and ten from the top 13 in the March 7 poll either moved up or down.

San Jose State does not play again until March 24 when the Spartans take on #14-Hawai'i in a MPSF match.
