#10-Spartans Open MPSF Play At #2-Stanford

            San Jose State University opens its 2013 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo conference schedule at Stanford, Saturday, March 9, in a 1:00 p.m. (PST) match at the Avery Aquatic Center.

            The Spartans (8-5, 0-0 MPSF) are ranked 10th in the March 6 Collegiate Water Polo Association coaches poll while Stanford (13-1, 1-0 MPSF) is ranked second. The two teams met February 2 in the Stanford Invitational with the Cardinal posting a 15-4 victory.

            Freshman Rae Lekness remaining the MPSF's number-three scorer averaging 2.38 goals per match. She has 31 goals to lead the Spartans. Teammate Timi Molnar is seventh with 27 scores and a 2.08 average. As a team, San Jose State is fifth in the conference in scoring at 9.77 goals per match.

            The Spartans are taking on the MPSF's number-two team in scoring. The Cardinal is averaging 13.07 scores a match and is led in scoring by Melissa Seidemann with her 2.50 average.
