Water Polo Finishes 7th At UC Irvine Invitational

No. 7 San Jose State beat No. 9 Loyola Marymount 8-7 in the seventh place match Sunday at the UC Irvine Women's Water Polo Invitational at Anteater Aquatics Complex.  Juliet Moss paced the Spartans with four goals in the match while goalie Kendra Adama recorded six saves.

The Spartans took a 4-0 lead 21 seconds into the second period. LMU then scored three straight goals to make it 4-3. The teams then alternated goals twice to make it 6-5 at the end of the third period before the Spartans scored two goals in the fourth to put the match out of reach.

Earlier in the day, the Spartans fell 6-5 to UC Davis en-route to their 2-2 mark during the weekend Invitational. Next up is a return home with weekend matches against Arizona State (Saturday, March 1, Noon) and San Diego State (Sunday, March 2, Noon) at the Campus Aquatics Center.
