Water Polo Hosts #1-Stanford In MPSF Opener

San Jose, Calif.-----San Jose State and Stanford, two of the nation's top women's water polo teams, meet in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opener for both squads, Saturday, February 11, at The Aquatics Center.

            San Jose State (6-3, 0-0 MPSF) is ranked eighth nationally while 2011 NCAA champion Stanford (6-0, 0-0 MPSF) is the nation's number-one ranked team. The teams met a week ago at the Stanford Invitational with the Cardinal  pulling away for an 11-6 win in round robin play.

            Presently, senior Dani Curran leads San Jose State in scoring with 15 goals. Co-captain Allie Stewart and junior Anna Natalizio are close behind with 13.

            Ashley Grossman is Stanford's top scorer with 10 goals.
