Boise-Kylie Miraldi and Alex Akana led the Spartan volleyball team in kills and blocks Saturday night in a 25-22, 25-12, 19-25, 25-21 loss at Boise State.
Miraldi led the Spartans with 12 kills on 27 attempts in the match. She also had four block assists. Akana led the team with six block assists and added nine kills, a service ace and a dig.
"Both ladies did a very nice job tonight," said Spartan head coach Oscar Crespo. "They had a nice number of blocks in the match, and I was happy with their offense production."
Others contributing included Caitlin Andrade who recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 38 assists and 11 digs and added fie kills and an ace and block. Taylor Japhet added eight kills and four blocks, while Sarah McAtee had seven kills, eight digs and two blocks.
Kristal Tsukano had eight kills four assists and two kills, while Thao Pham led the team with 13 digs. Courtney Zellmer added seven digs, one assist and an ace, while Krista Miler had six kills and three digs.
San Jose State plays its final home match of the year this Thursday, November 19, against Fresno State. The match begins at 7 p.m. at Spartan Gym, located on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets. Seniors Kristal Tsukano and Thao Pham will be honored prior to the match.
