Japhet's 11 Kills Leads Spartans

San Jose-Taylor Japhet led the Spartans in kills, but Nevada swept San Jose State Saturday night in a Western Athletic Conference match, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21, in Spartan Gym.

Japhet led the team with 11 kills, hit .240 for the match and added a dig.  Alex Akana led San Jose State in blocks with four, one solo and three assists.  She added six kills, one ace and one dig.  Kylie Miraldi had seven kills on 18 attempts, three digs and two blocks.  Sarah McAtee contributed five kills, nine digs and block assists.

Caitlin Andrade had 29 assists and eight digs.  Kristal Tsukano led the team with 10 digs, while Katie Turner and Krista Miller each had six digs.  Courtney Zellmer added four digs.

San Jose State plays its final two road WAC matches next week, Idaho on Thursday and Boise State on Saturday.  The Spartans return home for the final WAC match of the year on Thursday, November 19, against Fresno State.
