Volleyball Falls at #10 Hawaii

HonoluluKeri Anglin had nine kills to lead San Jose State, but the Spartans fell at #10 Hawaii, 30-25, 30-27, 30-14, Thursday night in the team’s final Western Athletic Conference match of the season.

 

Niki Clement added eight kills and eight digs, while Colleen Burke and Nia Freeman each had six kills.  Burke and Anglin had three blocks apiece.  Emily Burke added 31 assists, six digs and three blocks.  Kelly Crow added three kills, one dig and one block.  Courtney Zellmer recorded nine digs, while Thao Pham had one dig.

 

Returning home to play in front of the hometown crowd were Kristal Tsukano and Brianna Amian. Tsukano led the team with 12 digs, while Amian had two kills and two digs for San Jose State.

 

The Spartans are now 13-14 overall and 7-9 in the WAC, while Hawaii improves to 21-4 overall and 15-0 in the conference.  San Jose State now awaits word on its seed for the 2007 WAC Volleyball Tournament November 15-17.
