Fresno, Calif.-Kylie Miraldi hit .312 and led San Jose State with 12 kills as the Spartans fell in four sets at Fresno State, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-13, Saturday night in a Western Athletic Conference match at the Save Mart Center.
Miraldi recorded her 12 kills on 32 attempts and had just two hitting errors. She and Samantha O'Connell each recorded three block assists to lead San Jose State.
Krista Miller was just one kill shy of another double-double as she had nine kills and 12 digs and hit .300 for the match. Alex Akana added seven kills and two blocks, while Caitlin Andrade had 31 assists, a team-best three aces, four digs and two block assists.
Asia Casino and Hanah Blume each had two service aces in the match. Casino also recorded five assists, while Blume had four kills and five digs. Savanah Leaf added five kills.
"We handled the first set nicely but we did not play good enough tonight," said Spartan head coach Oscar Crespo. "We did what we needed to do in the first set to win but were not able to bounce back in the other three sets. We fought hard."
San Jose State now takes a week off before returning to action with three home matches beginning on Thursday, November 10, against New Mexico State.
