Amian, Tsukano Lead Volleyball In Hawaii

Honolulu Hawaii natives Brianna Amian and Kristal Tsukano returned home and recorded the Spartans top performances in San Jose State’s loss in Hawaii, 25-12, 25-22, 26-24, Friday evening in a Western Athletic Conference match.

Amian, a graduate of Moanalua High School, led the team in kills with eight and blocks with four assists. Tsukano, a Kamehameha High School graduate, led the team in digs with 11.

Others contributing for the Spartans include Emily Burke, Colleen Burke and Nia Freeman who each had four kills. Emily Burke added 18 assists and five digs. Kylie Miraldi added three block assists, while Kelly Crow had three kills and three digs. Courtney Zellmer contributed three digs.

San Jose State returns home next week for two WAC matches. The team hosts Fresno State on Thursday and Idaho on Saturday. Both matches will be played at Spartan Gym at 7 p.m.
