San Jose-Four Spartan volleyball players recorded double-digit kills, but San Jose State hit just .188 in the match as the team lost to Fresno State, 25-19, 25-16, 17-25, 25-21, Saturday afternoon in a Western Athletic Conference match at Spartan Gym.
Kylie Miraldi had just one hitting error on 20 attempts in the match. She hit .450 for the match with 10 kills.
Others in double-figure kills included Brianna Amian who led the team with 12 kills. She also had two blocks and four digs. Hanah Blume had her fifth double-double of the year with 10 kills and 11 digs and recorded two service aces. Taylor Japhet added 10 kills on 32 attempts and just three errors.
Setter Caitlin Andrade had 41 assists in the match and added two kills, two aces and six digs. Katie Turner led the team with 16 digs and had two assists and an ace. Sarah Griest came off the bench and hit .385 with six kills on 13 attempts and one error and added two blocks.
San Jose State continues at home next week with two WAC matches. The team hosts Utah State on Thursday and Nevada next Saturday. Both matches begin at 7 p.m., inside Spartan Gym, located on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets.
