"It was very nice to get a road win, especially a sweep," said Spartan head coach Oscar Crespo.  "We kept our composure throughout the match, especially when we were down three to four points in the second set.  Being able to come back from that deficit gives us the confidence and composure to carry us into our next match."

After leading from the first serve in set one, the Spartans battled with the Redhawks in the second set.  There were six lead changes and nine tied scores.  Seattle U led 21-17, before San Jose State made a slow charge and tied the score at 22-22 on an O'Reilly kill and took the lead for good at 25-24 on another O'Reilly kill.  Blume recorded her third service ace of the match to win the second set 26-24.

"We made some changes during the second set to get us back in the match," said Crespo.  "At times, Alex was running the offense as we subbed for Michaela."

San Jose State improves to 10-11 overall and 6-5 in the WAC.  The team next plays at Idaho this Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
