San Jose, Calif. - San Jose State (8-12, 3-4 WAC) volleyball defeated conference opponent Louisiana Tech (10-10, 0-5 WAC) 25-21, 25-22, 25-23 October 9 inside Spartan Gym.
The Spartans, wearing all pink for "Dig Pink" week, earned their third 3-0 victory of the season.
Alex Akana led the Spartans with 13 kills with a hitting percentage of .455. Hanah Blume, Taylor Japhet, and Briana Amian all had 8 kills in the game. Amian also added two solo blocks. Katie Turner led the match with 12 digs.
The Spartans out blocked the Lady Techsters 8-3, and finished with 11 more digs.
Caitlin Andrade finished with 41 assists and 7 kills. "It's great to see everbody coming out here wearing pink to support the team as well as the fight against breast cancer."
Tonight's win improved San Jose State's WAC record to 3-4 on the year, and their all-time record against Louisiana Tech to 14-1.
"Tonight's victory was a huge sign of confidence for us heading in to our next conference match on the road against Hawaii next week," said Spartans head coach Oscar Crespo.
San Jose State volleyball resumes action at the University of Hawaii on October 15.
