Volleyball Falls In Three At Nevada

Reno-Brianna Amian hit .462 and led San Jose State in kills Thursday night in a 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 loss at Nevada in a Western Athletic Conference match at the Virginia Street Gym.

Amian led the Spartans with eight kills on 13 attempts and only one hitting error.  She added five digs and a block assist in the match.

Katie Turner led the team in digs with 13, while Caitlin Andrade added 17 assists and six digs.  Asia Casino also had six digs on the night.

Kylie Miraldi led the team in blocks with three assists, while Sarah McAtee and Krista Miller each contributed a block assist.

"Brianna did a nice job for us tonight," said Spartan head coach Oscar Crespo.  "However we never really got going tonight and were not mentally ready to play.  We were trying to force plays instead of just letting the action happen.  We struggled tonight passing and hitting and have to be much more composed in our match on Saturday."

San Jose State continues on the road with a match Saturday evening at Utah State.  First serve is set for 7 p.m. MDT.
