The San Jose State volleyball team spent this past Saturday morning sorting peppers, lots of peppers, at the Second Harvest Food Bank on Curtner Avenue in San Jose.
Led by Kristin Sulpizio, Director of Volunteer Services at Second Harvest Food Bank, the team worked over two hours to sort over 20,908 pounds of bell peppers as part of their community service project. The food will be distributed to families stuggling with low-wage jobs, growing housing costs and homelessness.
Second Harvest Food Bank distributes food to over 236,000 people a month. The food is distributed through their partnering agencies, their satellites and through Second Harvest Food Bank's direct service programs.
