Nicknig was selected to play for the South team at the 31st Annual Optimist All State game this past December.
Nicknig currently plays club for Sac Performance Volleyball Club. She is a two-time Junior National qualifier with the Sac Performance 17s and the SynergyForce Volleyball Club 16s.
"Kate will bring more physicality to our team and will have a great impact both offensively and defensively at the net," said Shepardson. "She has a strong competitive edge and has been on successful teams. We will enjoy having her attitude to find ways to win, desire to learn and passion as a Spartan."
