Her infectious smile is hard to miss and makes you believe that former volleyball player Kristal Tsukano will be successful at whatever she does in her life.
Tsukano came to San Jose State to play volleyball and get an education. She wasn't sure what her major would be.
"I was clueless when I came here on what I wanted to be my major. I thought I would just figure it out."
Figuring it out is what she did as she is getting her degree in biology systems and physiology. But her schooling is not going to end. Part of her figuring out her major is now deciding what she wants to do. For her, that means more school.
"Getting my bachelor's degree means more school for me. I am applying to graduate schools so I can get my master's degree in public health. I really like the health field and helping people," said Tsukano.
A four-time San Jose State Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Western Athletic Conference honoree, Tsukano is very appreciative of everything she received while at San Jose State.
"My coming here was a good opportunity to get a good education and play volleyball. Playing and going to school was something that I appreciated," said Tsukano. "Everything I did at San Jose State made me who I am now. I loved playing volleyball here, but I also enjoyed making friendships with people in my major."
