The Spartan volleyball program will host two camps this summer for players to improve their skills. The first skills camp, for ages 8-13, will be held on July 11-14 while a second camp, for ages 14-18, will be on July 25-28. Both will be held on the San Jose State University campus.
Spartan All Skills Camps are designed for all ages and skill levels. Campers will be evaluated and placed in a group that challenges their level of play. The All Skills Camp curriculum is written to be adjustable from beginner to intermediate to advanced levels.
The Spartan All Skills Camp is separated into two training sessions by an hour lunch break (campers provide their own lunch). The morning session addresses two to three skill sets per day including passing, setting, attacking, defense, blocking, serving and other fundamentals. The level of each drill is adjusted according to the level of the participant.
The afternoon session seeks to take the skill sets acquired from the morning and instruct participants on how to use them in Team Play as well as competitions.
