Volleyball Swept By Utah State

San Jose, Calif.-- Lauren Jacobsen led the San José State volleyball team with 12 kills, but Utah State hit .416 for the match and swept the Spartans 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-17) in a Mountain West match at The Event Center.

Jacobsen hit .429 for the match with 12 kills on 21 attempts and just three errors.  Mary Alice O'Reilly also had a nice hitting match at .389 with eight kills on 18 attempts and just one error.  Hanah Blume was the other Spartan in double-figure kills with 10 on the night.

Michaela Leonard had her second double-double of the season with 34 assists and 10 digs.

Utah State had just five hitting errors in the match with 47 kills on 101 attempts for a .416 percentage.  They also outblocked  the Spartans 6-1.

"Lauren had nice numbers for us tonight, said Spartan head coach Oscar Crespo.  "We did make some adjustments offensively to help us out against their block.  We did not put our best foot forward tonight and are still looking for that fire." 

San José State now goes on the road for matches at UNLV next Thursday and at San Diego State next Saturday.
