"Today I was impressed with our strong attitude and intense focus against UC Riverside," said Spartan head coach Oscar Crespo.  "We blocked well all day.  I was happy with our focus in the first two sets against Pacific, I just wish we could have sustained that drive throughout the match.

"Overall, we finished second for the second straight tournament and now we will get ready for Mountain West play."

San José State now takes the week off before beginning play in the school's inaugural year in the Mountain West.  The Spartans will play the first conference contest in school history when the team hosts Boise State on Thursday, September 26, at The Event Center.
