Longmire Finishes 12th at USATF Junior Championships

Sacramento, Calif. ---- San José State freshman Destiny Longmire jumped 5.67 meters to finish in 12th place in the long jump at the USATF Junior Championships on Friday inside Hornet Stadium.
Longmire jumped three times with her farthest distance coming on the final attempt. Her mark was good for 12th place among a field of 16 of the country’s top amateur long jumpers.
Qualifying for this national meet is yet another highlight for Longmire in her first season as a Spartan. She scored for SJSU in both the indoor and outdoor championships, was the Mountain West outdoor long jump champion and was one of four Spartans to qualify for the NCAA Championships West Preliminaries.
The native of Moreno Valley, Calif., will be a sophomore when indoor season beings next fall.
