It’s conference championship week for the San José State women’s track & field team. Kolbi Sims and Jade Childs will kick off the 2017 Mountain West Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Logan, Utah on Wednesday, May 10, with the heptathlon.
The Mountain West Network will have live video coverage of the multi-events on Wednesday and Thursday as well as all track events over the weekend. Field events will be covered in video-on-demand-form via the MWN.
Thursday’s action will feature the conclusion of the heptathlon and the women’s 10,000 meters. SJSU’s Jennifer Sandoval enters into the race with the 38th-ranked time in the NCAA West Region (34:44.17).
Freshman Destiny Longmire owns the West Region’s 27th-best long jump of 6.15 meters and will compete in her signature event on Friday afternoon. Cambree Harbaugh has made it to the NCAA Championships West Prelims for the long jump in each of the last two years, and she’ll be trying to make it three times on Friday.

Harbaugh is heading to the championships after jumping her new college best 12.29 meters in the triple jump. She'll look for just a little more distance at the championships to better her ranking which stands in a tie for 50th in the West Region.
Qualifying for the 1500, 100-hurdles, 400-hurldes and a many other track events also take place on Friday. Finals for those events will follow on Saturday alongside finals for the triple jump and high jump.
