The San José State University women’s track and field team will compete in perhaps the biggest week of the outdoor regular season at a handful meets in Southern California highlighted by the Mt. SAC Relays.

"We have a few meets on the menu this weekend," said director of track & field Jeff Petersmeyer. "The distance runners will get to run against some of the best runners in the country at Mt. SAC Relays and I think we can come away with some solid performances. The sprinters and jumpers too will see some good competition at Azusa and Long Beach State Friday and Saturday. We are confident we can leave Southern California with some good marks."
The Mt. SAC Relays is one of the premier track & field meets attracting collegians from all over the country. The Spartans will also be active at the California Invitational Combined, Bryan Clay Invitational and the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State.
Jade Childs and Kolbi Sims will kickoff the action on Wednesday with day one of the heptathlon at the California Invitational Combined hosted by Azusa Pacific. They’ll wrap up the hep on Thursday when the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational get started. The Beach Invitational will take place on Saturday, April 15.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing Jade and Kolbi compete," Petersmeyer said. "I think they're ready for some good performances and this meet will have some great competition for them."
