Women's Track Competes All Over The Map This Weekend

The mentality this weekend for the San José State women’s track and field team will be divide and conquer, as the Spartans are active in four meets throughout April 1-2.
Sprinters Makayla Webb and Caitlin Wilson, alongside long jumper Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw, will headline the Spartans’ bill of events for the Stanford Invitational on Friday. Should Webb reach the finals of the 100 hurdles, that event will take place Saturday at Cobb Track & Angell Field.
Jennifer Beckingham, school-record holder in the 1500, will compete in that event also at the Stanford Invitational. Live stats for all events are available via gostanford.com, or by clicking the link below.
SJSU distance runners will be in action at the Distance Carnival, hosted inside Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State on Friday. Lalida Maokhamphiou, fresh off of her victory in the 1500 at the CenCal Twilight, is one of three running the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Elda Aguilar in the 800, Diana Orozco in the 1500 and Karina Nunes in the 5000 round out the Spartan distance group.
Freshman Jelia Brice-Montgomery will compete in multiple short-sprint events throughout the day Saturday at the Distance Carnival. She will also compete in one leg of the 4x100 meter relay, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Jumpers Nicole Iloanya and Cambree Harbaugh begin a busy weekend in the triple jump on Friday morning at the Texas Relays hosted inside Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas. Harbaugh will remain in the Lone Star State to compete in the triple jump at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational on Saturday.
