The San José State women's track and field team is in action this week on Friday and Saturday, January 15-16, at the Ed Jacoby Invitational hosted by Boise State.

For the first time the Spartans will have two entries in the pentathlon with senior Jade Childs and freshman Kolbi Sims. They will kickoff Friday's action with the hep's first event, the 60-meter hurdles, at 2:30 p.m. (MT).

Childs, Sims and Cambree Harbaugh will all compete in the long jump event. Sims will close out a busy meet with the high jump.

"This meet will give us the chance to see where we are in the pentathlon event," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "It's great to have two entries, and we are excited about what both of them can do. Hopefully we have some good competition and this will be a good measure for us."
